About

I certainly am no Spiderman, but I’ll try to build the courage to jump off the 87th floor of London’s Shard, Europe’s tallest building. I will drop 1,056 feet to support the Outward Bound Trust (OBT), a fantastic organisation that enables underprivileged youth to realise their potential through challenging outdoor adventure.

I may be a bit mad for agreeing to do this, but what better way to experience the essence of the OBT than to personally face an extraordinary challenge such as this? Many youth face great life challenges, and the OBT teaches them valuable teamwork and leadership skills, serving as a road-map to becoming motivated, self-disciplined and responsible citizens of the future.

My aim is to raise as much money as possible for this organisation, and ultimately its beneficiaries, underprivileged children. To start the fundraising efforts, I’ve personally donated £20,000 towards my £100,000 goal. I appreciate your kind and generous sponsorship.

The Descent of Shard - by invitation only

Soaring to 310m above the ground, The Shard is the tallest building in Western Europe, justly celebrated for its elegant architecture and elevation that delivers the most commanding views of London.

Before this extraordinary building opens to the public in early 2013, a small group of people are being given the unique opportunity to abseil from the pinnacle of The Shard in aid of charity. They will be trained by The Outward Bound Trust, supported by the Royal Marines, and guaranteed an exhilarating and utterly memorable experience.

Together, this small group of people will raise a landmark sum for two charities dedicated to helping those facing personal and physical challenges: The Outward Bound Trust and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.
