To raise funds to help expand tennis playing opportunities at Purley Bury Tennis Club for all, whether able or disabled, young or old.
Raising money for
Bright Ideas for Tennis
Donations accepted until 23-10-2018
I am a member of Purley Bury Tennis club, which is a registered charity. I started playing tennis at the age of 5 and played through to the age of 18. When I moved over from South Africa a combination of work , studies and a lack of descent facilities meant it was difficult to continue playing tennis , at least on a regular basis.
Fast forward 25 years later married with three kids and moved to an area where Tennis is accessible has meant that the entire family is now playing tennis. My wife has joined a beginners program, the kids (4, 8 and 9 ) are Junior members getting coached by MDL and as for me I am now playing and both socially and competitively in the clubs 4th team.
I truly believe that tennis should be accessible to all young and old, able and disabled and through this charitable fund I am hoping to raise awareness as well as funds to help improve the facilities for the local community and hopefully inspire the younger generation to play tennis.
