Anything is possible
I'd just started doing triathlons when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now I'm doing my first half-ironman 1 year after finishing treatment

I hated sport at school. When I started dating my husband, I became a cycling widow. It was either join him or never see him, so I took to the road. A year later I did my first triathlon at the age of 40. nine months after that, I was having chemo for breast cancer, but carried on training during chemo.
On June 18th I'm doing my first half-Ironman 70.3 at Staffordshire, a year after finishing my own triathlon of treatment (chemo, surgery and radiotherapy). I'm fitter than ever and want to inspire people to show that anything is possible.
It's going to be a LONG day out - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run, and will take me a good 8 hours. I'm going to have a bit of fun and do the run wearing a neon pink wig and tutu to raise money for Macmillan and Breast Cancer Care, because I HATE the colour pink
