About

Hi, I'm Lili. I'm in my 50s (that's me on the right of the profile pic) and this is the first time I will be taking on such a challenge! I love netball, I played as a youth, my daughter played as a teenager and I helped out and now I host/coach walking netball sessions.  In the summer of 2018 I am going to Uganda with the Netball Development Trust (NDT) to coach children and I will work in Mbale, Jinja, Kampala and Fort Portal.
NDT is supported by the International Netball Federation and England Netball.
The total number of children that have been introduced to netball by being part of one of the NDT tours is now around 10,000 and there is a group of circa. 50 leaders and volunteers that continue a programme all year round in various countries. Children benefit from playing netball! They have fun and other health and lifestyle benefits are introduced to them via NDT and the partner organisations.
So, why am I asking for your help to fundraise?
As a volunteer, I will be raising funds to provide; netballs, bibs, whistles, coaching aids, rule books, nets and other essentials for the schools and clubs in Uganda. All the money will go to support the project. Please read on ..

Lili's Uganda Tour with Netball Development Trust

In July I will be going to Uganda for a NDT tour which will be 3 weeks long. Each week whilst in that country, I will work with a small dedicated team to coach as many children as I physically can! My team will work with both boys and girls together, most of whom have not had any prior experience of playing netball and they will be aged between 10-16 years old. During the week whilst there, we will look for those children who will be strong enough to represent their school, and by Friday of each week, we will select 10 players (5 boys & 5 girls) from each school to play in a tournament. The tournament day is much anticipated by all participants (and coaches) and is an event not to be missed! It is a real community day, all those children not selected for the main team come along with their friends, banners and drums and cheer for their school. Prior to going to Uganda, I will be doing various tasks to raise funds such as raffles, food events, auctions and so on. In the interim, if you could find in your heart, and you have a few spare £££££ please help me raise funds for this tour which will make a  huge difference in some young people's lives.  Much love, Lili
