I'm swapping my Rubber Gloves for Boxing Gloves!
I am boxing in a White Collar Boxing Event at Preston's Guild Hall on Saturday 08/12/18, raising money for Macmillan's fight against Cancer.

Macmillan Cancer Support
Donations accepted until 08-03-2019
It's not often I drag out my 'Big C' sob story but sometimes it's good to give something back and so here is a little context for why I have chosen to raise money for Macmillan.
I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer when I was 26. It was a shock and to be honest, some of the statistics around survival rate provided to me at the time were pretty depressing. The care I received from the Gynae-Oncology team at RPH was second to none. However, as with anything that requires NHS resources there was a lot of obstacles to navigate before my treatment was complete.
Along with my friends and family, there was one very special person who fought for me and my treatment everyday. She negotiated waiting lists, as well as being a constant support both practically and emotionally for me & Paul.
She was my guardian angel in Nurses' scrubs.
She was Sandra, my Macmillan Cancer Nurse.
Sandra fought for me at a time when I needed someone with her knowledge, expertise & compassion to help me recover, and to be the person I am today. Now it is time for me to fight back for Sandra, and all the other Macmillan nurses who provide a service you will never truly appreciate unless you experience it.

Charity White Collar Boxing Event
I own a Housekeeping company and my day to day work usually involves lots of conversations around keeping things clean and rubber gloves. I am swapping my rubber gloves for boxing gloves in order to support Macmillan in their fight against cancer. On that day, I am aiming for 'clean' punches and a clear win.
Having never stepped into a boxing ring in my life, this is quite a big challenge for me. Any donations that you make will help to 'spar' (ok, spur) me on when the training gets tough, knowing that my efforts will be making a difference to other people on their own Cancer journey.
The match will be held at the Guild Hall in Preston and you can contribute by either buying a ticket from me directly and attending, or by donating to this page.
Please give as much as you can and know that on the 08/12/18 I will put up the fight of my life. I have done that before, thanks to Sandra and the Gynae-Oncology team at RPH, and we won that fight!
