The Great South Run for Kleine Levin Syndrome
Matt and Helen are training together this year, running in a variety of 10km events during the year in preparation for running the "Great South Run" in October 2015.
Their son, Jacob, has the rare neurological condition - Kleine Levin Syndrome - there is no cure, only hope - and meanwhile whilst he has the condition he sleeps through days, weeks and months at a time.
Running is impossible for Jacob, as he could not commit to regular training, it is hard for his parents too - non runners prior to 2014... but they are determined to highlight that anything is possible... so aim to run to raise awareness of the condition, and to hope that one day enough money can be raised for KLS Support UK so answers can be found.
The Great South Run - 10 mile - KLS Challenge
At the start of 2014, neither of us - Matt or Helen could run 3km... let alone run 10km... Helen managed her first 10k raising awareness of Kleine Levin Syndrome... and now Matt has decided to join her.
Having already run 10km... the challenge now is to run 10 miles (just over 16km) and to raise awareness of their son's medical condition along the way...
During the year they will be taking part in:
- Somerley 10k (Spring)
- Southampton 10k (Spring)
- Lymington RNLI 10km (Summer)
- Bournemouth Marathon 10K (Autumn)
Finishing with the Great South Run.... please support us along the way!
