Penelope and Kim Swithinbank are 2 retired Vicars celebrating their first full year of retirement with a number of adventures! This one seemed ripe for being a fund-raising exercise as well. In September Kim will be joining a group of about 17 men from our church in Combe Down to build a barn in Transylvania to help a group of Romany people become self-sufficient farmers.
Walking from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic
We will leave Portiragnes Plage on 2nd of June and aim to arrive in Cap Breton around the end of the month, a distance of around 500km. We will be carrying all our belongings but staying in B&B and similar accommdations. Some of the walk is relatively easy along the Canal du Midi. Some is more challenging, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. We are obviously funding the entire trip ourselves but thought some might like to follow our progress and support a worthwhile cause.
