On August 5th my brother Andrew & I (Sarah) will attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain: Mount Kilimanjaro. This (entirely self-funded) climb is something we've wanted to do for ages, & Mydonate gives us the opportunity to raise funds for Motec Life-UK. (www.moteclife.co.uk) at the same time!
Motec Life-UK is involved in a number of different essential projects in Ghana including:
- Training & support for parents of malnourished children in the deprived
northern area of Ghana.
- Organising the regular collection & freighting of new/ good quality used medical equipment & books to hospitals & schools respectively.
- Running orthopaedic clinics & operating in areas with poor access to orthopaedic care.
- Enabling selected health care professionals to come to the UK for
targeted training with appropriate experts (train the trainer).
If you live outside the UK and would like to make a donation, please cut and paste the following url into your browser:

Alternatively please go the the support us page on www.moteclife.co.uk
Africa's highest peak stands 3 miles above the surrounding plains. After months of training we will attempt one of the biggest physical challenges of our lives. We will be travelling along the lesser-used wilderness route: the Rongai route with a father and son team (Phil and Daniel Watson) who are raising funds for bowel cancer. The climb will take us 6 days to get up there, hopefully allowing us to acclimatise to the altitude. Coming down is faster - only 2 days. Wish us luck, we will need it!
