Thank you ever so much for visiting this page.
I hate feeling helpless and sitting back, so instead I’m going to sit on a saddle for 350km from London to Paris with a group of awesome, intrepid cyclists.
Whilst that almost makes it sound comfortable, I can assure you it will be a physical challenge. I have 3 months to train (both mind and body!) and knowing that I’m raising as much as I can for a really important cause will make every bit of difference.
This year Thighs of Steel are aiming to raise £40,000 for Khora which will help fund the electricity and rent for a community centre in Athens that not only provides basic needs such as free nutritious food, warm clothing and access to dental care, but also social needs such as education, child care, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.
Us cyclists won’t be touching a smidgen of this money – all of the other costs such as food (we’re gonna eat tonnes) and accommodation (boy, are we going to snooze like there’s no tomorrow) are covered by ourselves.
Help where you can, and if you can donate any amount it really makes a difference.

We are fundraising for Help Refugees, who fund small grassroots refugee organisations. The specific group we are fundraising for is Khora, a co-operative made up of volunteers from all over the world, including the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers. Their community centre in Athens provides not only basic needs such as free nutritious food, warm clothing and access to dental care, but also social needs such as education, child care, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.
