Fundraising for Action Against Cancer
I will be running my first half marathon on October 8th for Action Against Cancer. This will be the furthest I have ever run, and this is the only charity I would do this for. For the last six years, Action Against Cancer has supported cutting-edge research that I have led at Imperial College. Due to the commitment of my amazing team in the laboratory, this research has resulted in groundbreaking discoveries, and there will undoubtedly be more to come.
The team is working to develop new diagnostics and treatments to improve the survival prospects and quality of life for millions of cancer sufferers worldwide. The aim is to discover how to turn ‘off’ those genes which lead cancer cells to reproduce uncontrollably, or in some cases, find ways of turning ‘back on’ the body’s natural defences against this process. Action Against Cancer is making this work possible. For more information, visit www.aacancer.org. Please give generously to support this life saving research. Thank you very much.
