About

John der Parthog was a much loved and respected man who made friends with everyone who crossed his path. He was born in Ethiopia in 1927 and then moved to Cyprus with his parents and brother Georges, where he grew up and later met Gwynneth before relocating to the UK and getting married in 1956. John and Gwynneth went on to have a son, Dudley, a daughter, Judith and later a granddaughter, Suzanne. John achieved much in his rich and varied life but he was proudest of co-founding Sunvil Travel with his business partner Noel Josephides in 1970. John continued to be involved with Sunvil until shortly before his passing on the 19th May 2018, ten days before his 91st Birthday, following a short battle with Lymphoma.

Event details

John's Memorial Service

We will be remembering and celebrating John's interesting and inspirational life with a funeral service on the 6th June at the St Sarkis Armenian Church, Iverna Gardens, Kensington, London W8 6TP at 12pm followed by refreshments at the Centre for Armenian Information and Advice (CAIA), Hayashen, 105a Mill Hill Road, Acton, W3 8JF.

John will be laid to rest the following week (date TBC) in Cyprus to be with his parents and brother.

Instead of flowers we would ask that anyone who wishes to make a donation would do so on here, which will go directly to CAIA, a charity very close to John's heart where he was a trustee for five years. More details on the charity can be found at http://caia.org.uk/
