Help us turn this challenge into a legacy!
1000-mile cycle challenge, raising funds for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and Myeloma UK
Donations accepted until 01-03-2019
In the last 12 months, we have lost two friends, tragically young - Helena, aged 52, who died earlier this year from a chronic lung condition, and Alan, aged 60, who lost his fight with the blood cancer, Myeloma, last summer.
So to raise money for the charities that support people like Helena and Alan, we've set ourselves a (mad?) cycling challenge - 1000 miles in two weeks along the entire length of Great Britain.
Jamie, Adrian and Elizabeth will set off from Land's End on 19th August and aim to reach John O'Groats on 1st September - completing nearly 3000 miles between us.
Will you help us make this a summer to remember, by supporting us? If you fancy sponsoring us to support our chosen charities, that would be fabulous, or cheering us on our way with your thoughts, and messages, will be great too!
The length of our country by bike!
We like cycling. We pootle about a bit from home. And we've also cycled some longer routes in a leisurely way - Coast to Coast routes, and from Newcastle to Edinburgh. This challenge is way, way different and our maddest yet! Quite how we (well, Jamie and Liz, anyway) were persuaded to cycle an average of 75 miles, each day for 2 weeks, we have no idea!
If we can turn this challenge into a legacy, in memory of Helena and Alan, it will spur us on to complete the ride and leave something worthwhile behind.
Your thoughts, support and sponsorship will be very much appreciated!
