Cycling Closed Road Challenge
I am looking to raise money for Macmillan as a charity that is very close to my heart.
My dad passed away from cancer 20 years ago so I know first hand the invaluable work that Macmillan do in supporting families at such a difficult time. It's a thankless task normally due to the extremely emotional and often difficult circumstances. However the support they provide and kind and generous way they do it makes such a massive difference to the families they help.
Unfortunately we are experiencing cancer again first hand with my Stepfather but yet again Macmillan have been invaluable in providing support and access to information and communication that is just not possible through the NHS directly.
Please please put your hand in your pocket for this amazingly worthy charity that provides so many people with critical support at what is the most difficult of times in their lives.
Velo Wales / Ride London / Velo South
I am taking part in the 3 largest/longest closed road cycling events in 2018.
It starts with the Velo Wales on the 8th July which is 140km. The slightly shorter of the 3 leaves me with a sense of misplaced confidence due the daunting climbs en route of the legendary Tumble and Caerphilly Mountain.
3 weeks later I will take on the 100 mile Ride London which I was lucky enough to do 2 years ago and is an amazing day out, if you forget the 6-7 hours in the saddle for a moment.
Finally I will be taking part in the inaugural Velo South (also 100 miles) which starts and finishes at the Goodwood race track on the 23rd September, post the summer holidays and too much sun and sangria.
Event is completed
