Imogen & Kate are running for Alice
We are running the Great North Run in memory of Alice and to support the work of the Alice Ruggles Trust in their campaign to put an end to stalking.
Raising money for
Alice Ruggles Trust
Our friend Alice was adored by so many, she brought so much happiness and laughter into our lives. She was hilarious, witty, beautiful, kind, honest and loving, the list goes on. We are running the Great North Run in memory of Alice and to remember the great times we shared together in Newcastle and before. We are running in support of the trust, her friends, family and everyone who has been affected.
Alice had so much to live for. Tragically, Alice was murdered in Gateshead on 12 October 2016, aged just 24.
The Alice Ruggles Trust exists to raise awareness of coercive control and stalking, to ensure that relevant legislation is effective and adhered to, and to bring about lasting improvements in the management of perpetrators and the protection of victims.
For those who know myself and Kate, we are very much used to riding around on 2 wheels and not running. This is going to be a real challenge, both physically and emotionally.
It would be fantastic to have your support.
Love Imogen and Kate
Great North Run 2018
The Great North Run is the world's greatest half-marathon with over 50,000 runners. It passes through Gateshead, where Alice was murdered in 2016, and Alice's mum Sue ran the GNR in the following year 2017, raising over £10,000 for Women's Aid. In 2018 several runners, including Alice's dad Clive, will be taking part in the GNR to raise funds for the Trust.
