Hope goes to Kumi
We are a group of enthusiastic volunteers from Hope Chapel, Bristol with wide ranging life experience from financial skills, nursing, motherhood, prison, addiction, building skills, computer skills, cooking, motorbiking, to being dads, donkey care, pig rearing, sausage making, guitar and vocal skills, teaching, running a night-shelter and a foodbank, mentoring, plumbing etc. etc.
We are keen to bring who we are and any skills we have to make the lives of orphans and prisoners in Kumi a little better.
Fundraising for orphans and prisoners in Kumi.
We will be running half-marathons, making soup, organising a clothes-swap, a ceilidh, a quiz night, games and film nights, making cream-teas and the like to raise the money to go on this trip as well as supply all the building materials, footballs etc that we will use/give during our time there.here's a flavour of what we will be doing:
Working with Mission Direct and their partners in Kumi, we will be building a classroom in the slums so that the children have a dedicated place to learn.
We will be doing activities and playing with children who have been orphaned due to HIV.
We will be going into the prison to hear and share stories of recovery and life-change.
Around this, we will visit many projects that Mission Direct support, and see some of the beautiful country and animals that is Uganda.
We are so excited to go, and we are so grateful for your support, enabling this trip to happen.
