Raising money for
Spread a Smile
In February 2018 Trixie was diagnosed with a brain tumour after being poorly for many months. The tumour was on her pituitary gland and was causing her to lose her sight. She had surgery in Southampton to remove it but needed 25 radiotherapy treatments to shrink smaller particles of the tumour in her brain. Trixie spent 10 days as an inpatient at UCLH once she had recovered from the surgery. This was a tough time for Trixie but she took it all in her stride and was a little star. The Spread a Smile charity work with 5 of the main London Hospitals on the Children’s wards to help them get through there treatment. They visit the wards weekly with magicians, singers and actors to cheer up the kids and their families. Trixie had the opportunity to see West End shows too such as Matilda and ALaddin with drinks, food and ice cream provided. Trixie’s family and friends were also invited along. They did an amazing job to put a smile back on her face whilst she was going through her treatment. So we want to support this amazing charity so that they can continue to help other children. Trixie has now finished her radiotherapy and is waiting for an MRI scan to confirm the tumour has gone.
