Haloodiefoodie goes Vegetarian for HWNS Charity
As a Food Blogger, I've enjoyed some amazing meals both at restaurants and at home. If you scroll through my social media profile, you would rapidly conclude that my diet contains a huge amount of meat.
Consequently, I've decided to become vegetarian for the month of January 2018. I've teamed up with the wonderful people at the Nawal Benevolence Fund to support a local charity who have been at the forefront of meeting the needs of vulnerable people for the past 20 years. The Hackney Winter Night Shelter Project (HWNS) provide hot meals and warm beds for homeless guests who would otherwise be out on the streets during the coldest winter months.
I'm sure you'll agree with me that my vegetarian month will be a huge challenge. Many of my family, friends, and fellow food bloggers feel that it will be unachievable for such a hardcore carnivore. Nevertheless, the thoughts of the homeless battling cold weather without food or shelter in the winter months has strengthened my resolve to succeed. Furthermore, your donations will more than compensate me during my meat eating hiatus.
Please donate generously. Your contributions will help provide hot meals and warm beds.
