george van der sterren
The Master's Charity for 2018 is the Salvation Army Community Centre in Hoxton, serving an area of high deprivation North East of Liverpool Street.
About
The HCC is at the front-line of community care delivery for the City, Hackney and Islington, providing those at risk and in need with a safe and welcoming space incorporating a Drop-in Day Care Centre, mental health support, a Community Food Store and Lunch Club, bargain clothes, childcare and an Employment Plus facility.
The Masters' 'Fitter for Mission' vision is that the Worshipful Company of Horners will enable the barren and unused rooftop space of the HCC to be transformed into a vibrant and colourful well-being multi-use community activity space.
Help us transform lives whilst demonstrating the life-transforming possibility of plastic!

A range of fundraising activities during 2018
For 2018, Gordon Haines, the Master of the Worshipful Company of Horners, has chosen the Salvation Army Community Centre in Hoxton as his charity for the year - and specifically, the re-development of their barren and unused rooftop space into a vibrant well-being multi-activity space.
The Master's family has a long tradition in the Salvation Army from its beginning in London's East End in 1865 and the Horners Company have supported Gordon's SA Christmas Gift campaign for the last decade. The rooftop transformation project combines a capital appeal with our Company's specialist knowledge of how polymers and plastics can be used to transform the quality of life for local younsters alongside the growing number of 50+ community residents suffering from onset dementia, depression and other mental & physical health issues.
