Climbing Kili for clean water! Every drop counts!
I am a PhD student at the University of Salford currently in my 3rd and final year of studies and also work as an Industrial Trainee for Arup. I am researching how nature can inspire engineers to create more efficient and sustainable structures which are able to adapt to the environment's ever changing conditions.
I have been playing volleyball for 15 years and I play in the BUCS First Division North with the University of Salford women's team. Through volleyball I met my partner in crime Rachel, who will be climbing with me.
I also do weight training in the gym and take part in many different classes such as spinning, Metafit, body conditioning, and Zumba.
As my interest and commitment to being healthy and fit both physically and mentally has significantly increased in the past year, I decided to take up this challenge to prove to myself that if you work for it you can achieve all your dreams in life and to remember to always do my best to help other people along the journey.
Climb Kilimanjaro for Clean Water 2017
Kilimanjaro is one of the toughest treks in the
world. The tallest free standing mountain on the planet stands at 5,895m. Our
fundraisers are undertaking this mammoth challenge to raise money for water and
sanitation projects in Kenya. 10 million Kenyans lack access to safe water,
held back by disease and disrupted education. By sponsoring a climber today you
can break the needless cycle of poverty.
