Round the World for Remembering Not to Forget
In memory of my father, and in support of a wonderful new charity, I'm trying to raise awareness, and funds, for people affected by dementia.
I'm taking on this challenge to help promote the aims of Remembering Not to Forget, including:
- promoting and protecting the good health of people living with dementia, for example, helping people with dementia to live independently for as long as possible, and as the disease progresses ensuring they have a good quality of life and receive high standards of care
- providing support to families and carers of people living with dementia
- carrying out research into the nature, causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and care of all forms of dementia
- campaigning on dementia issues.
Barcelona * Paris * Geneva * Tenby * Henley-on-Thames (swim) * Reykjavik * Dingle * Loch Ness * Amsterdam * Chelmsford * Las Vegas
Inspired by Remembering Not to Forget's Round the World challenge, I wanted to test myself. In the end, I managed 9.89 marathons (plus the marathon swim). As 3 miles went missing in Vegas, I'm adding on an extra one and will be spending New Year's Eve tackling the Flitch Way marathon - what a way to see out a fantastic adventure!
