About

To launch the Forces Wives Challenge (FWC) and celebrate Armed Forces Day on 30 June 2018 the FWC team aims to inspire 100 forces wives and partners to climb Pen y Fan which stands at 886m in the Brecon Beacons National Park.  The climb will be completed to raise money for our chosen charity The Ripple Pond.

By recognising and harnessing our unique mix of skills and experiences, we hope to unite the forces community as a team; a team with purpose that celebrates our drive, ambition, strength and above all - support for each other.

Event details

Pen-y-Fan Challenge

On 30 June 2018 the forces wives community will unite together in a shared experience of adventure to climb Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for The Ripple Pond, a self-help support network for the adult family members of physically or emotionally injured Service Personnel and Veterans.

The charity was set up with the main aim of providing a space to express feelings safely, in a non-judgemental environment, where everyone can be heard. It does not matter what the ‘injury’ is, physical, emotional or both. The charity provides a range of support services, which include Group Meetings, a ‘Buddy System’ and a confidential online forum where members can offer or seek support when they are ready.
