Catherine's 5k for RHL
RHL is making a massive difference to people with physical and mental disadvantages. It also promotes the benefits of healthy living in communities which need it most.
I am running to raise money for RHL to help more people like Brian - case study below.
Any support would make a huge difference and would be gratefully received. Please remember to gift aid.
Frimley Park Run
Brian underwent life-saving open heart surgery in April 2016 and was advised by his doctor to start RHL’s Cardiac rehabilitation classes. Brian explained “It has made a real difference, exercising and talking to other people who have been through similar treatments. The classes make sure that no one feels on their own and I now believe that I’m the fittest I’ve been since my fifties.” He also commented how he found it difficult to talk to people. It is evident that our classes have been life-changing for Brian. His wife was keen to tell us that attending our project had literally given her husband something to live for and that he has regained his self-esteem and self-confidence by taking part in it. Because of RHL supporting her husband, it is obvious that her quality of life has improved too. Brian’s son Simon is also enthusiastic about how RHL’s classes have had a tremendous impact on this Dad – last year he and 2 friends flew over from America to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats as a thank you to raise money for RHL – Brian drove the support car.
