18 years ago I became a special needs Dad when a drunk driver crashed into our car. Our then 8 week old son - Timmy - was brain-injured, left blind in one eye, with a left side hemiplegia and he's now on the severe end of the autistic spectrum.
Over the years, we've enjoyed many happy hours with Timmy at Thames Valley Adventure Playground - a unique special needs facility. Every now and then I find a fun way to raise funds for them: in 2011, it was the Great Amazon Raft Race in Peru (paddling 180km down the Amazon River). In 2013, I walked 50km along the Ridgeway in the inaugural Race to the Stones.
And in 2015.....
On the morning of Saturday, 23 May I'll be setting off on a 100km walk from London to Brighton with friends Angus Peacey and Chris Laas. We'll walk through the night with the aim of arriving in Brighton in time for a champagne breakfast (we'll worry about blisters and aching bodies later!).
Event is completed
