About

I completed the WAWA ride on 24th June in 174 hours and 56 minutes, just 4 minutes inside the cut-off time. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but at the same time one of the most rewarding and positive experiences of my life.

For the complete tale of my Irish adventure check out my full ride report here - http://ultradiscostu.blogspot.co.uk/2016/07/wild-atlantic-way-audax-ireland-ride.html. I'd recommend a good cuppa before you start as it 8,000 words!! Well it was a long ride :-)

There is also a link to my video of the ride below which captures both the beauty and brutality of the WAWA.

Huge thanks you to all my friends and family for your support, and for your generosity. You can still donate on this page too.

God Bless

Event details

Wild Atlantic Way 1400 mile ElliptiGO Challenge

I'll be attempting to ride 2,100km within a strict 175 hour time limit around the West coast of Ireland. This equates to riding 200 miles per day for 7 days. I'll be riding for up to 20 hours per day and will be lucky to get 2 hours sleep. It includes over two Mount Everest's of climbing!

The second thing about this Challenge is that the ElliptiGO bike that I am riding has no saddle! Yep you heard me right. So I'll be standing for the entire time effectively 'running' on the ElliptiGO for 7 days straight.

The ride hugs the rugged coastline along the Wild Atlantic Way from Kinsale in the South to Derry in the North. It will be spectacular but a true test both physically and mentally and I really cannot complete this ride alone. I need both your SUPPORT and PRAYERS. If you want to track my progress on the ride which starts on Friday 17 June I'll have a Live Tracker beaming back my position every 1/2 hour to this website - https://social-track.uk/tracker/xsdfghiJ7R/

Disco Stu, Reading about your rides and training has been a huge help with getting more out of my ElliptiGO. Have a great ride and a few pints along the way. It's Guinness the sixth food group? Cheers, Andrew

This was my very first donation from no other than Frank Bruno who goes to my local gym. We got chatting on the cross-trainers and once he heard about the challenge and raising money for the Church he whipped out a tenner! A really nice gent!
