This page has been set up in memory of Douglas Hanford.
Douglas passed away on Monday 7th August, 2017 after suffering a severe stroke.
Douglas was known for putting the world to rights and his strong opinions! However, he was also an incredibly intelligent, funny and kind man who always thought of others before himself.
Douglas will be missed greatly by his partner Christine, his 3 children - Matthew, James & Elizabeth, his son and daughters in law - Cayne, Helen & Bev, his grandchildren - Thomas, Jenny, Lucy, Isabella, Sophie & Heidi; together with his extended family, Claire, Ross, Mark, Nicola, Dylan & Ella.
In his memory, his family have chosen to set up this page for donations to the Stroke Association and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
Doug really enjoyed sailing for many years, owning his own yachts. He sailed out of Burnham on Crouch regularly and across to France on a racing yacht.
Over the years, he has always supported the RNLI.
