I've had ME for over 10 years now and during that time, there has been little or no progress in available treatments for this devastating disease which affects over 250,000 people in the UK and 16,000,000 worldwide. It can affect anyone of any age, of any background, but most suffered are women. The recovery rate is between 0 and 1%.
Because of historical prejudices towards this disease, until recently, there has been little research into it's cause, let alone towards finding affective treatments and maybe even a cure.
Invest in ME supports a Centre if Excellence in Norwich dedicated to research into this devastating disease.
U consider myself one of the lucky ones. Yes, I can be quite ill at times, but I also have periods of reasonably good health. For some, life consists of lying in a silent darkened room, unable to eat or speak.
So it's not just for me that I want to raise this money, it's for everyone affected by this horrible disease, for the patients and also their families who care for tgem.
