Four friends from Hastings, UK, running & walking the 192 mile coast-to-coast walk across Northern England to raise money for Hastings, Sierra Leone
Raising money for
Hastings Sierra Leone Friendship Link
Seth East, Dain Jensen, Ross Garnet and Sam North will be taking on the 192 mile Coast-to-Coast Walk, including 5,100 feet of elevation, to raise money for the Hastings Sierra Leone Friendship Link, a charity promoting links between the two towns of Hastings, UK and Hastings, Sierra Leone.
The charity raises funds to support projects such as education and healthcare in a country which has one of the highest rates of infant mortality in the world.
The coast-to-coast walk/run stretches 192 miles from St Bees on the West coast to Robin Hood's Bay on the East. This world renowned walk was devised by Alfred Wainwright and passes through three contrasting national parks: the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the North York Moors National Park.
Seth, Dain, Ross and Sam aim to do this challenging route in a gruelling eight days, rather than the usual 12 - 14 days. They will be covering an average 24 miles each day - almost a Marathon!
They will achieve this by a combination of walking and running and have been training hard over the past few months in order to fulfil their aim.
