In Alice's name
Stalking is vile. Please help me raise funds to tackle this crime in the name of my daughter Alice, who was murdered by a stalking ex-boyfriend...
Raising money for
Alice Ruggles Trust
My daughter Alice, aged 24, was murdered in October 2016 by an ex-boyfriend, Trimaan Dhillon. After they split up he had stalked her relentlessly. The murder investigation was the subject of an ITV documentary shown on the anniversary of her death.
There is never a moment when some part of my mind isn't thinking about Alice, about all the things we shared, and how the empty the world seems without her bringing laughter and mischief into it every day.
Stalking is hugely distressing to the victim, and—as I now know all too well—it can be life-threatening. We've set up the Alice Ruggles Trust to help stop what happened to Alice happening to others. We have to change attitudes, to raise awareness, and to make sure we protect victims and deal with offenders before it is too late. If we can help to save just one life, then all the effort is worthwhile.
Inspired by my wife Sue, who ran the GNR last year, I have decided to tackle it myself in 2018 to raise funds for our own Trust. Please support me! We have so much work to do, but people are listening, and I believe we really can bring about lasting change, in Alice's name.
Great North Run 2018
The Great North Run is the world's greatest half-marathon with over 50,000 runners. It passes through Gateshead, where Alice was murdered in 2016, and Alice's mum Sue ran the GNR in the following year 2017, raising over £10,000 for Women's Aid. In 2018 several runners, including Alice's dad Clive, will be taking part in the GNR to raise funds for the Trust.
