Chris Jenner's Fund Raising
I am married to Helen who works with at Elliott Hall Medical Centre and we have 2 children Will and Kate. I am a keen walker and skier and in recent years have taken up cycling.
I am fortunate to have worked as a GP in the same practice since 1989. The practice has expanded in recent years following our merger with Elmcroft Surgery. I am privileged to work with an amazing team who help us deliver care to our patients, many of whom are elderly and frail. It is our partnership with the patients association that makes me most proud and this venture is a small gesture to support them.
My professional interests are in managing older people with complex problems, education and developing partnership working with patients and the voluntary sector.
EHMCPA Cambridge to Hatch End 70mile Cycle
This cycle ride will be on back roads and cycle paths from Cambridge to London. At the moment I am training by cycling most days to work (even in recent sub zero temperatures) and welcome anyone who wishes to join our journey. My son Will has agreed to join me a recent veteran of cycling 3000 miles across America he has kindly agreed to keep an eye on me!
All monies raised are for our Patients' Association.
The Association (a registered charity) celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year and as a practice we owe so much to them. With over 160 volunteers providing a large range of services (transport, visiting, games groups, shopping, tea parties, carer and bereavement support) they also produce the twice yearly ElliottEar newsletter, delivered by volunteers to every patient household! The achievements of the Association are enormous and some of those helped today were those volunteering in the past.
Funds have dwindled in recent years and I am hoping to provide a financial injection that will help the Association to still be here doing its amazing work in another 25y.
