The Christmas Rumble 2
A night of randori to burn off some Christmas excess but also raising funds to help the fight against Type 1 diabetes and some other great causes...
Raising money for
The Pendsey Trust
Donations accepted until 28-01-2018
After many years of getting restless during that Christmas-to-New Year period and really fancying a practice on the mat; I finally did something about it and last year thanks to the support from APJC and other friends and clubs the Christmas Rumble was born.
Now of course it's about a top night of judo, but most importantly it's about raising money for some fantastic causes. The Pendsey Trust is a wonderful organisation working on the front line of the fight against Type 1 diabetes in some of the world's poorest communities. As a father of a beautiful girl with the same condition, it is a cause close to my heart, so it seems like a good idea to combine my loathing of that disease with my love of judo (and the need to give my wife a break and get out of the house over the holiday season!) and create the Rumble!
Christmas Rumble 2
The Christmas Rumble is a straightforward format. A night of senior ne waza and tachi waza randori with a whole range of abilities, from beginners up to the odd 7th Dan!
Last year we had clubs represented from all over north London (Alexandra Palace, Moberly, Willesden, Barnet and more) including a strong contingent from the Luton School of Judo too. This year, hosted by our friends at Barnet Judo Club, we hope to build on the success of last year and have even more bodies on the mat and raise even more money this year!
