As anyone who knows me well can agree i am not a runner I just never have been. I would much rather be riding my horse or down the gym doing body combat than pounding the pavements with a bright red sweaty face in all weathers. The only time you might have caught me running would have been to the pub to catch the last orders before they closed!
A halfhearted attempt last year saw me running the furthest I have ever ran (5k nothing really to shout about) however that was only tolerable due to my running buddy Kate & catching up on all our gossip. That was short lived once I moved away.
However when I sat down & thought about how I could contribute to the wonderful charity my dearly missed cousin's legacy had created I concluded it wouldn't be worth the donations if it wasn't a real mental & physical challenge.
So here I am attempting to run a minimum of 71 kms over 11 charity events in 10 months concluding with a 16 km run in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Running for Emma
I aim to run in a charity running race at least once a month starting from December 2016 - October 2017 ending with a 16 km race at the Portsmouth Great South Run where I hope to see you all cheer me on for Emma!
In total in the 10 months I should have run a minimum of 51 kms in the name of the Emma Campbell Trust.
I will upload blogs and pictures of my activities over the months so you can share in my pain hahaha!
Emma's favorite colour was blue so any blue suggestions you'd like me to dress up in I will consider for an extra donation towards the cause what’s a little extra humiliation? You haven’t seen me run yet!
I will also plan to try and get some fun runs in as well so why not come along and throw some paint at me! I will keep you all updated regularly on my Facebook page. Watch this space.........
