Chris McGlen attempts the London Marathon
I have been running now for around 7 years and I have completed several half marathons but never the full 26 miles. However I now have the opportunity to run in the London Marathon and feel that its now or never. Muddy Fork is the charity I have chosen to run for where I am currently a support volunteer.
I initially became involved with Muddy Fork helping to look after their honeybees back in 2015. Since then I have seen how the charity has supported people in the North Nottinghamshire area experiencing mental health challenges take back control of their lives. This is achieved through a programme of gardening and outdoor activities at the Idle Valley Nature Reserve in Retford.
If I am to fundraise by doing a marathon I could not run for a more worthwhile cause.
26.2 miles of sheer pain through the streets of London and part of the thousands of entrants running the London Marathon.
My goal is to complete the race and not get overtaken by too many people running as edible fruit and especially not by anyone running in a suit of armour.
