Cheryl and Dave's Edinburgh Half Marathon
Childhood cancer charity LoveOliver was set up as the legacy of baby Oliver Gill, who died from a rare and aggressive form of cancer on Christmas Day, 2010, only 24 weeks old. Reporter Cheryl Peebles, of Kinghorn, and assistant editor Dave Lord, of Broughty Ferry, have written many times for The Courier about the charity set up by Oliver's parents Andy and Jennifer Gill. They are full of admiration for the work they do to, in Andy and Jennifer's own words, continue to be the best parents they can to little Oliver. LoveOliver provides practical support for families of children who have received that most awful of diagnoses and are being treated at the Royal Hospitals for Sick Children in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It also directly helps research into childhood cancer by fully funding a PhD student at the University of Newcastle. It's an invaluable and inspiring cause and Cheryl and Dave will be proud to run every step of the 13.1 miles for.
