Canford School Partnership Trip to Ghana 2018
Eleven pupils from Canford School are trying to raise £500 each to donate to the Awutu-Winton School in Ghana.
Raising money for
Educational Development Projects (EDP) Trust
In July 2018, eleven pupils from Canford School will be visiting the Awutu-/Winton School near Accra in Ghana: the only free secondary school in the country. As well as working alongside the pupils at the school, they will be engaged in projects such as building picnic benches and rubbish bins, painting classrooms and improving the dormitories. The Canford pupils are each attempting to raise £500 to take to the school and help them buy much-needed equipment. Your donation will make a huge difference to the Ghanaian children who value their education and their school so much.
Lots of different activities!
The pupils are arranging a multitude of events, from sporting endurance to hosting charity functions.
Simon is doing an erg marathon (42km on a rowing machine) on Sunday 17th June;
Charlie is selling homemade cakes and bacon sandwiches to pupils;
Zarah has held a bake sale and is hosting a musical entertainment evening for family and friends;
Matt and Deya are throwing a home cooked Indian style dinner in their local village hall;
Issy, Freddie and Tom are running half marathons.
