Bridget cycles Paris to Lyon
In May I will be cycling from Paris to Lyon as part of a sponsored cycle all the way from London to Athens, raising money for refugees in Greece.
Raising money for
I have long been a low-skilled but very enthusiastic cyclist, and my last and only cycle tour also took me across France. Much of it was spent eating croissants and experiencing the capricious French weather...
Hopefully this cycle will be much the same, but with one main difference: we are cycling to raise money for Khora, a charity who feed, clothe and generally provide for refugees in Athens. Here is a link to their website:
We all know what a hideous crisis this is, and if you feel hopeless or depressed about the situation, then this is one small way to help!
I am self-funding this trip, so I 100% promise that all the money donated will go to the above charity. We will be having a nice time, but it will be a challenge, and most importantly this is not a holiday!
I am trying to raise £500 so please donate if you can. You know the drill, if you'd like to donate £10 but can't afford it, donate £5! Donate £2! To use the hackneyed phrase, every little helps :)
Much love to all and many thanks in advance,
Thighs of Steel 2017
We are fundraising for Help Refugees, who fund small grassroots refugee organisations. The specific group we are fundraising for is Khora, a co-operative made up of volunteers from all over the world, including the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers. Their community centre in Athens provides not only basic needs such as free nutritious food, warm clothing and access to dental care, but also social needs such as education, child care, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.
