Brett's Ultra Marathon - Race to the King 2017
Brett has decided that his first race in over 10 years is going to be a short 53.2 mile run across the South Downs....
Raising money for
Basingstoke & Alton Cardiac Rehabilitation Charity Ltd
Donations accepted until 25-09-2017
Race to the King is a true outdoor challenge. I will be running (with maybe a little walking) over 53 miles through one of the most beautiful national parks in the UK
Day 1 will total, 23.4 miles and Day 2 will total 29.8 miles with a night camping in between. I will be starting at the Slindon Estate near Arundel on Saturday 24th June around 8am and finishing at Winchester Cathedral sometime on Sunday 25th June.
The route will take me along the South Downs Way, an ancient path along a ridge of chalk hills passing many historical sites with amazing views across the chalky Downs.
I have NEVER run this far in such a short time span before....so this is a great personal challenge that I am really excited to complete.
I am also privileged to help to raise funds for a very local small charity - Cardiac Rehab. Both Liz and my maternal Grandfathers died from Heart Attacks.
This is based in Alton and Basingstoke and is a Charity dedicated to helping improve Heart Health, Fitness and Wellbeing of individuals with, or at risk of developing, Heart Disease. This charity would be unable to continue without the donations it receives, so please do give generously.
