140km+ for the Caring Cancer Trust
I (Ben/Mabel/Stevie) have been taking part in far flung long-distance endurance events quite regularly over the last few years. I love being able to travel around the UK and go on these exciting adventures! This, however, will be my most ambitious challenge yet...and I can't wait!
Previously, I have raised money for the James Ballantyne Memorial Fund (http://www.jb-mf.com/about/), but this year I will be fundraising for the Caring Cancer Trust. My girlfriend Holly (aka Colin) received their help and support as a young child and she has been very active within the charity ever since, helping those that are going through the same battle that she did. It's an incredible charity that has such a wonderful impact on the lives of those affected by cancer and their families.
Ultra Tour of Arran AND The London Marathon
I have been lucky enough to secure a ballot entry to the London Marathon this year...and if that wasn't enough I am warming up with a 100km adventure (over 2 days) around the Isle of Arran the weekend beforehand. The two events will total slightly more than 140km (87.5 miles) and involve both road running and trail running, with a handful of mountains thrown in for good measure!
The full extent of the Ultra Tour of Arran can be seen at http://ratrace.com/uta/
My adventuring partner Edward will be joining me for the Ultra Tour of Arran and I will be linking up with two rugby team-mates (Poo Bear and Willy) for the London Marathon. They are both running with charity places for Phab kids (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/3lads3dads), another great charity!
