About

Hey you

Can you spare your hard earned cash for a good cause?

I'm riding from Sofia to Thessaloniki to raise money for Khora, a charity that supports migrants arriving into Greece. Khora operates an 8 story community centre in Athens, providing everything from a creche and fun activities like music sessions, through to dental services and a library.

The charity have their work cut out. The kitchen serves 400-600 people with free food 6 days a week, while the education team offer 20 language classes to 400 students *every day*.

To sum up, Khora is amazing. Hence this ride, where myself, my pal Philly, and a bunch of others will be burning through 500km to drum up £500 each.

It would be fantastic if you could chip in. It'll be the best £5/£10/£20 you've spent for some time.

London to Athens 2018

A group of not-so-serious cyclists have set themselves the serious challenge of cycling between London and Athens. The ride is a relay-style challenge, with each participant taking on a week or two of the overall trip.

We are fundraising for Khora; a grassroots, proactive association running a community centre in Athens. Their centre provides basic and human needs for people without freedom of movement. This includes free nutritious food, clothing, education, access to information and a safe space to build relationships and relax.

Equally important to what they offer, is how they offer it. Khora is run by volunteers from all over the world. Its team includes members of the local Greek community, the refugee community and other international volunteers too. It prioritises dignity and respect in every service it provides.

The £60,000 we are aiming to raise will pay for the rent for their community centre for an entire year. The running costs of a project are typically the hardest to find funding for, so it of particular importance to be able to provide this for Khora, to secure a stable future for the project. All fund-raised money goes to Khora, and none on the ride.
