Bath Half to Open Up Higher Education to Refugees
Christopher and Kim
Staff and students at the University of Bath are raising funds to help open up Higher Education to Refugees. We're running the Bath Half and asking you to contribute to the fund by sponsoring us.
We are witnessing simultaneously the worst refugee crisis since World War 2 and a rise in the far-right politics of bigotry and hate on a scale not seen in Europe since that same conflict. Welcoming refugees to our community is not only an essential humanitarian response to an ongoing crisis but also a clear and unequivocal statement that xenophobia has no place on our campus or in our communities.
All donations go to Bath Welcomes Refugees and will be used to help reduce barriers to Higher Education for refugees.
Amnesty Society Refugees Welcome Campaign
Donate here to help refugees access higher education in the UK.
In light of the current global refugee crisis and the
rise of politics of division in the UK, refugees’ integration into British society and equality of opportunity is crucial. The University of Bath Amnesty society have organized this fundraising initiative as a part of our Welcome Refugees Campaign. We are raising funds to help refugees access Higher Education in the UK. Over 40 British universities have scholarships and other financial assistance programmes for refugees and we would like University of Bath to follow suit. This campaign is supported by People & Planet, Middle Eastern Awareness, Islamic Society, Gender Equality, RAG, BEST Economics Society, V Team, Politics Society, ISA, BAPS, Engineers Without Boarders, SPLAT Art. We have been working with Bath Amnesty and all funds raised from 9th Feb 2017 onward will be donated directly to the charity Bath Welcomes Refugees (charity no 1171442).
