I believe in sustainable business that goes beyond profit to nourish the soul, support the world we live in and contribute to community.
I worked for over 30 yrs in Information Technology as a programmer, project manager and trainer. 20 of those years I worked freelance. More recently I completed a Masters in Medical Anthropology with a view to working overseas and an Intuitive Leadership programme to move into mentoring and coaching.
I love travelling. For many years interspersed intense periods of working on the corporate treadmill in the UK with extended travels.
In 2012 I started pulling those two strands together; I worked on a film project in South Africa and delivered Imagination Technology workshops in Ireland, South Africa and Greece. This year I applied for The Great Generation opportunity to participate in the future role of global business where social impact and value creation are core.
The Great Generation Uganda Project
24% of the population in Uganda lives on less than $2 per day. They lack skills, business know-how and the market knowledge to build and sustain success and achieve significant results. What they do have is motivation and a desire for change in their lives.
I applied to join The Great Generation to create experiential learning programmes to foster global sustainability. These programmes bring expensive and hard to access business expertise to communities with limited resources, challenge and transcend norms and assumptions, stimulate fresh thinking for future creativity.
My next step is to participate in a project; to share my gifts, skills and expertise while being open to be challenged and transformed. The project is in two parts; the first with local businesses in Kampala and the second with the 1st Buikwe Districk Teacher's Forum which has been created to improve rural teaching standards.
