About

As you all know, I have been running marathons for a few years and retired (I even framed my medals with no spaces for any more........). But here I am again, in training, and asking for your support (yet)again!
A bit of background - on my way to the airport to fly to Boston to complete the 5 "marathon majors" I discovered they had added a 6th - Tokyo! I decided enough was enough, but last summer a good friend said he had entered the Tokyo marathon..........and I couldn't resist attempting the 6th and hopefully last major.
Over the years, through sponsors' (your) generosity, I have raised a good sum for charity. Those of you who do the same sort of thing will know that whilst there is a great sense of achievement in completing a marathon, it is much, much greater if there is an additional purpose of raising some money for a good cause.
I have selected the charity website with the lowest admin costs and all the costs involved in running the marathon are being borne by me, so for every £10 you donate £9.85 will go to charity (£12.35 if you tick the gift aid box).

Event details

Tokyo marathon for Changing Faces

Well, you know about the event, but maybe not about the charity - Changing Faces.

This charity was established in 1992 with the goal of helping people who have a disfigurement to find a way to live the life they want. They campaign against discrimination, and provide emotional and practical support for individuals.  It really isn't an exaggeration to say that the help people receive from Changing Faces transforms their lives.

Angela has worked with them for many years, running skin camouflage clinics every month, and finds the work challenging, but massively rewarding.

Please be generous - I'm running in Tokyo for the joy of participating in such an event, but also with the aim of helping Changing Faces continue to develop the great work they do.

Thank you in advance for your support.
