About

Inspired by the amazing exploits of ordinary 'non-athletes' like Eddie Izzard (43 marathons in 51 days), David Walliams (swimming the Channel and the Thames) and Helen Skelton (canoeing the Amazon, biking to Antarctica), my friend Nigel and i are doing our own challenge, cycling the length of France.
We won't be matching these achievements, but we're going to have a go at something. We hope to raise some funds in the process in support of people in our community who face far greater challenges than most of us do.

Rowan provides a supported environment for disabled people throughout Cambridgeshire to lead fulfilling lives through creative art.

Event details

Montpellier or Bust

Our title is taken from the film Monte Carlo or Bust, the original 'Cannonball Run!' Although the similarities - aside from an adventure travelling through France - end there!

We are cycling from Montpellier on the Meditteranean coast up to Dieppe at the English Channel, making for a 600-650 mile trip and requiring that we cover around 50 miles a day over 12 days.

As part of our warm up programme, we have already done the London to Brighton night time run, departing from Hyde Park at Midnight and arriving on Madeira Drive Brighton for breakfast.

I hope you are injury free so far and will remain so. I'm so impressed by your decision to do this event and have my fingers and toes crossed for you completing and returning home to Leona and babies safe and sound - just sore
