For years my bestie, Holly, has operated within the confines of whatever condition the Lyme bacteria was mimicking, it can mimic everythingfrom multiple sclerosis to ME and much more. The infection spread from a tick bite can cause symptoms of vertigo, palpitations, numbness, fatigue, migraines and brain fog. If treated early with antibiotics it can be cured. If untreated, it can become sinister.

It is unfathomable that a disease so completely crippling is not recognised, tested for, or adequately treated in the UK. In support of my bestie and all of those affected by Lyme I'm embarking on a fundraising frenzy. I started with the London naked bike ride (raising £450) finishing with a Sky dive and running Brighton Marathon somewhere in the middle.

Please support me to raise £1,000 for Caudwell LymeCO. Currently there is no option on the NHS to treat Lyme disease past its accute stage. This money will be helping to fund research that will change that.

Event details

Brighton Marathon

Before embarking on my Marathon training I read an article that stated when you start training that’s all you’ll talk about.I laughed.Pah,not me.Until, I went to a party recently & apparently I could not contribute anything of value to any conversation unless it was 1) about running & 2) about me running a marathon.I AM THAT PERSON. Look at how I’ve capitalised the M on Marathon because it’s that blinking important. Did you know, nipple chaffing balms are an actual thing.YES.YOU HEARD ME.Nipple chaff.

Whilst I will be forever grateful to those who sponsored me for my London naked bike ride.Let’s face it, I covered myself in sequins and glitter and let it all hang free. IN MY ELEMENT.Training for a marathon is bloody hard work. Four months of blood, sweat and chaffing, 10+ session with a personal trainer, hours upon hours of telling your brain to keep putting one leg in front of the other, & investing in garments such as running socks. I don’t normally own matching hole free socks now I have ‘high-impact-blister-resist-fancy-pants’ socks.

So, donate everything. Remortgage your house.Sell your belonging.Send Nanny Anne’s inheritance my way (jokes!)

Love, A x
