I'm cycling 500 miles from Bristol to Bordeaux!
Having supported cyclists on B2B for some years now, in a moment of madness I've decided to get in the saddle and complete the challenge myself!
Raising money for
Bristol-based charity PROPS has become a bit of a family affair for us over the past few years. My dad, Kevin Smith, is Chair of Trustees and the B2B committee, so there's no escaping it in our house! That said, PROPS holds a place in all of our hearts, and it's something I care passionately about. I've shown my support in various different ways over the years, but I've decided (with some trepidation) that it's time I stepped up to take on the ultimate fundraising challenge in aid of this fantastic charity: The Bristol to Bordeaux Cycle Challenge 2017.
Anyone who knows me will vouch for the fact that I am a perfectionist, fiercely competitive, and don't like to do things by halves. As such, I've decided to jump straight in at the deep end and complete the EXTREME ride, cycling 500 miles over 4 days. As a very amateur cyclist, this might be the biggest mistake I've ever made, but if I can raise a whole lot of cash for this brilliant cause along the way, then I fancy my chances.
Please give whatever you can: money, good luck wishes, or any training tips from those a little more experienced than I- all shall be received with much love and appreciation. Thank you!
