Alastair's Great South Run
As some of you will know, I recently became a father. My son, George, was born spontaneously and prematurely at just 30 weeks weighing 3lbs 2oz.
We are incredibly fortunate that we live in a country with a fantastic free health service and we are also lucky that we live near Portsmouth's Queen Alexandra hospital. Their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (where George is currently being cared for) is a remarkable place and has rightly been graded as 'Outstanding' by independent review.
However, they are always in need of support for vital equipment and it's a no brainer for me to do what I can to help them raise funds for this.
With this in mind, I'm going to take part in the Great South Run to raise funds for the Ickle Pickles charity. They raise funds for neonatal units locally and nationally and were created by a couple with a story very similar to ours.
Laura, George and I will be incredibly grateful for whatever you are able to donate.
