5K PokémonGo Community Day walk
Sylwia and Laura work for OTR Bristol. Sylwia is a new staff member responsible for community and fundraising and this is her personal way to get involved. Laura knows OTR Bristol really well and aims to support Sylwia on the day. Both love PokémonGo, fun and a good challenge.
All the money raised from this fundraiser go towards OTR's really important work with young people's mental health. OTR provides mental health support and info to young people aged 11-25 across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. OTR’ s services are free, confidential, self-referral and provide a variety of support projects to combat mental and emotional health needs such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, OCD, abuse, eating disorders, family breakdown and substance abuse.
- £10 buys a young person a one-to-one session with a counsellor.
- £50 buys a creative group workshop on understanding and managing stress.
- £100 buys a six-week group for young people who self-harm.
5K PokemonGo Community Day walk
PokémonGo Community Day (monthly community event for the fans of this game) is a great opportunity to do a bit of fast walking, catching special Pokémon and meeting up with fellow geeks. We love the fact that families go out and spend that morning together having fun, so we want to join in with our challenge.
The average walking speed is 5K/hour so to achieve that we will need to stay focused - we cannot really stop! It's harder to catch Pokémon while walking so catching 50 Pokémon might turn out to be a challenge too! But we are hopeful.
With simple maths 50x2 people=100 so we hope that we can raise at least a £100 for the OTR Bristol.
Please support our efforts by donating and sharing the page with relevant friends!
If you are joining the PokémonGo Community Day look out for us - we won't be able to stop but we will wave back:)
