Keep Mo Chara Afloat

The Refugee Rescue search and rescue boat Mo Chara  - or "My Friend" in Irish - costs approximately £15k per month to maintain. Currently based on the North Shore of Lesvos, our team works tirelessly to save lives and is the humanitarian effort on the Southern shores of Europe, ready to protect humans, and not borders.

Your money directly helps keep the rescue boat and skilled crew there to save lives and welcome refugees fleeing conflict, war and violence. We are a small NGO and your support matters. Refugee Rescue has been on Lesvos since October 2015. With the help of international artist Jake Chapman we got Mo Chara in January 2016. Since then we have saved over 3500 lives and helped many others. The situation is dire and we need your support to be there to help our fellow humans.

We need you to initiate your own fundraising events that can feed to this page. So far we have had art exhibitions, music gigs, car washes. Use your initiative, this is how Refugee Rescue exists, own initiatives and self organsation. You can help. #togetherwecanhelp #welcomemochara

Money raised by sales of the print of my “searching for the future” painting. I hand painted all 6543 people and 172 boats helped by Refugee Rescue in 2018. Thanks so much to those who purchased so that RR can continue with their necessary work.
