Tobermory Lighthouse Path

Mull & Iona Community Trust are working alongside a team of volunteers to make vital improvements to the historic footpath from Tobermory to Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse.

We secured EU funding from Scottish Natural Heritage to cover the majority of the work, but it's a major undertaking and we're asking for your help to raise funds to cover the shortfall so the iconic path can once again be enjoyed by everyone.

Popular with both locals and visitors alike, the footpath provides spectacular views over the Sound of Mull, Ardnamurchan, Morvern and the historical site of Bloody Bay

The condition of the path deteriorated over a number of years and following a landslip in 2014 the Council erected “road closed’ signs along the path.

The funding we secured enabled us to enlist the help of two local contractors who started the huge undertaking in July, clearing and widening the path with diggers and breaking out rock to resurface it.  Despite the atrocious weather this summer, work is now almost complete and the path will soon be open again.  We do however, have a funding shortfall and we need your help.

How you can help

We are asking for your help to meet the funding shortfall – your donation will help to reopen the path so it can be enjoyed by everyone.
