Tijhza Emergency Relief Fund

Over the 22nd-24th November central Morocco was ravaged by storms not seen for decades. This has left the remote villages of Tijhza in the Atlas Mountains devastated.Buildings made mainly of mud have melted away, agriculture has been destroyed and livestock killed. The immediate needs of the villagers are:plastic sheeting to weather-proof homes, blankets and non-perishable food.

We are working with Exodus Travels to raise awareness of this disaster. In the medium term the village will need to rebuild homes, infrastructure and income generating schemes. We appreciate any donations to this urgent appeal and will update you as we know more.

Activity log

Was lucky enough to visit Tijhza back in October with Exodus. What a lovely place and wonderful people. Hoping recovery is quick and rebuild work goes well. Best wishes.

Remembering the hospitality and good humour of our hosts during recent visit with "Exodus" (Oct '14). I hope this modest contribution will help in a tiny way to overcoming the natural disaster you have experienced.

From all of us at the University of Sheffield who went on a geography field trip a month or so ago. We put on a fundraiser event a few weeks ago. We had an amazing time when we visited and were so warmly welcomed.
