Sleep Easy 2019

YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire are holding our annual Sleep Easy fundraiser on Friday 29th March 2019.

Through the event, the charity is looking to raise awareness of life on the streets by sleeping out for just one night.

Participants will sleep in a cardboard box at Coventry Rugby's Butts Park Arena, from 7pm on Friday 29th March to 7am the following day.

By making their ‘beds’ for the night within the stadium grounds, our intrepid band of fundraisers will help create positive futures for even more young people.

At any one time YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire provides accommodation for 60 otherwise homeless young people, aged 16-25. Last year we supported 167 young people, helping them to access training, education and specialist support to move forward with their lives.

Put another way, we offered 22,480 safe nights sleep in the past year.

The charity also supports hundreds more within the city through Open Access and specialist youth work across the city. We work with children as young as 11 offering tailored support to help them build the tools they need to transition into adulthood.

Did you know?

Rough sleeping has increased by 287.5% in Coventry over the past year and 1 in every 100 young people are now thought to be homeless in the UK.

Homeless is growing meaning that your support is needed more than ever. Could you sleep rough for one night to support YMCA?

All funds raised will be used to improve accommodation and opportunities for young people living at YMCA Coventry and Warwickshire.

Well done girls! Such an important and escalating crisis to highlight and support in the current, disgracefully callous and noninclusive political environment :(
